I was thinking about how firearmageddon in the states is basically bringing the market down there to a grinding halt and since once everything is sold out ( which happened about a week ago) will basically freeze up 90% our market since manufactures will probably seriously cut down on new production or maybe some will halt altogether until they see how this new AWB shakes out.
I finally have some cash saved up to start a collection and it hard as hell to find things, I can't even find a 10/22 anywhere, all the big retailers tell say they're sold about but they expect a shipment within a month or so, they seem to have no comprehension of the magnitude of what happening down there with a possible AWB.
I digress, I was thinking that guns who's main market and origin is not the US should not be as affected by this like all our favorite M14 clones. So who is the market for all these M305s? Besides Canada? I mean they haven't been permitted into the states since what the 80's?
The vast majority of countries don't permit civilian firearm ownership and those that do, usually have heavy restriction on military style firearms and calibers (Mexico) or on semi-autos at all (UK and Aus).
I realize that Norinco has many sketchy customers but I would have figured that your average warlord, drug lord, terrorist, and third world government prefers AKs and other cheap Soviet style weapons.
So who besides Canadians buys the Chinese M14's? I was just curious because the Canadian market can't be all that big, and even though they're roughly made by students they would have to be produced at quite a volume to retail for 450 odd bucks.
I'm sure there will be lots of speculation, anybody have any real info?
