What is the most accurate 22lr?

Most accurate .22 is the one that you have found the brand and spec of ammo that it likes best while honing your shooting technique to a tee.

Lol damn! Under a 1000. I was thinking bolt action was more accurate. I guess building a 10/22 from scratch is good. I want something with a 100 round drum or something!

Probably the best thing you could do is one of the adjustable moa rails too add as much elevation. Any decent bolt should be good at really long range. I was playing with my antique 146ba with a vortex HST and with max elevation on turret and bottom hash mark I was still about 18" low at 340 yes yesterday, but hitting a 12" gong quite easily. I have a 20 moa rail on my savage tr but the Chinese Mueller scope has very little moa of internal adjustment. I also find cci AR tactical ammo good at long range.

At under $1000, you won't be purchasing any of the 22lr rifles that are known for producing the best accuracy. That is exactly why I ask for a price when people ask for 'the best" anything.

This works "ok" ;) but a top end bench 22lr helps with accuracy...

But for under a $1000 try find a used CZ455 with a match Lilja barrel

If you want a 100 round drum and want to spend under 1000 then you want a ruger 10/22 with the long heavy target barrel on it, or a dar-22 with a long heavy barrel then get a replacement trigger, replacement extractor and replacement magazine hold in pin thingy (the plastic ones suck with the 100 rd drums but the metal heavy spring replacements work great with the drum) for the drum, get the GTG 110 rd drum.

Then you want to spend whatever is left on a scope and one box of each of about 20 different kinds of ammo, if you want to go long range forget subsonic or standard velocity and stick with stuff over 1200 fps and stick with 40 grain bullets, take the thing to the range and put it in a lead sled to figure out which ammo gives you the best groups at about 100 yds and then buy a brick of it, sight in the scope and away you go.

You might want to think about a bipod if you aren't going to be using it for benchrest or standing.

They have 100 rd drums for annies now?
Yep 120rd drums for those talking accuracy and spray and pray in the same thread :)

LOL, that's kind of what I was thinking... this thread is all over the place. "what is the most accurate .22" and 'drum magazine' in the same thread???

SK magazine comes in a 'big tube' kind of looks like a drum.. but my Anschutz only shoots 1 at a time.

"if you want to go long range forget subsonic or standard velocity and stick with stuff over 1200 fps" Hogwash!!! Stick with subsonic ammo then you don't have to worry about the bullet entering the trans sonic zone ( this is when the bullet slows down from super sonic to sub sonic, the bullet will become unstable and move all around until it is subsonic) Shoot subsonic ammo and the bullet will fly true.

For a well under $ 1000.00 SN 522 with a good scope and ammo and a little home improvement becomes a very accurate rifle . Some have done the 1/2 in challenge . Just my 2 cents ..
