A very short scope such as the 4x25 Red Star could do. You need a scope that will not extend past the stripper clip cutout on the carrier.
That way, you can still reload with stripper clips AND your scope won't be subjected to constant hammering from empties flying by.
Too bad actually no quality scope maker understands our needs and come up with a real good short scope...
This would start quite a scope and mount rush! :)
PP.

My SkS I opted for the;

For my CZ I put on;

They work great! Here is a pic of it on my CZ;

But if I am not target shooting and am out in the woods nothing beats a holo sight with a magnifier for 200 yards and less. Lony eye relief, quick targeting and the maginifier works wonder's for those long shot's! My rifle sports a bushnel holo sight and a EoTech 4x with a A.R.M.S quick flip system. Sorry no pic of this yet.

Hi everyone,

Im doing my research and trying to learn more about scopes, but would love to hear opinions.

In addition to shooting irons, I wanted to get a side mounted scope for my CZ. However, I am not sure which scope would be best. I dont want something that is overkill

Here are some i was looking at:

If you decide to go with POPS scope I would recomend 4x magnification with AK mount scope

I for a long time considered a side mounted scope for the vz, long time weighing the positives and negatives, much research, i came to the conclusion that i do not want a side mounted scope, i bought a vz for its superior maneuverability and light weight, a side scope negated those pluses in my eyes and i decided against it and in favor of a scout style set up be it red dot or Leupold 2.5, if im going to be shooting past 200 yards, its very close to the time to pull out a .308 to get the job done. Of coarse this is how i feel and is my opinion, i still like the posp set-up it just doesn't fit my needs. So in terms of effective for my needs, a side mounted scope for me is way off the mark.

We are testing a quick release mount off the back of our new railed adapter. Im out of the office next week, so i should have some pictures and test reults for holding zero before months end.
