I am wanting to try them in a large capacity case load of 95gr of Retumbo.

How large a load have you gone?

Personally I don't see an issue , not a ball powder and not going to use in extreme cold.

I've used them up to the 'Edge in summer, but didn't gain anything. On the other hand I've had cold weather coyote miss-fires all the way down to the 22-250 with the CCI Benchrest, and a rash of big case misfires with CCI magnums. It can take years for a pattern to emerge; but eventually there's a "Hey, wait a minute moment" where you realize there's been a few too many clicks when there was supposed to be a bang, and something about life being too short.

Good chance you will make clic-------------- bang amo
Honestly, RETUMBO can be very pricky if not burning at proper rate and temperature.
Federal gold medal magnum primers (GM215M) is the only primer I use with slow powder in big brass.

Have you pierced primers? Primer cup that mark the firing pin wirh a donuth around, dont worry about it if its fédéral.its only the firing pin hole a few thow bigger than needed. If the primer cup dont crack and leak, dont worry about it.

Not worried about the load, rifle, etc...

Some of the damn casings don't get into the shell holder for decapping(4 out of 50).The damn doughnut.

Not a big deal, just a bit of a pain, guess I could just modify the shell holder a tad.

I have loaded over 150 300RUM using 90+gr of Retumbo using WLRM primers without ever having a click or a click---Bang.
Even though I have heard of pierced Winchester primer cups I have never experienced one.

Winchester primers are hot enough to ignite ball powders, so large Rifle should work just fine.

A primer ignite with flame, flame duration and pressure. Some powders are harder to ignite because of a thicker coating of deterrent (like DNT). A large Magnum primer burns longer, generating more pressure, which helps make sure the powder charge is well ignited every time.

I have never yet had a WLRM, Fed 215(M), CCI 250, CIL 8½M, or a Vihtavuori LR Magnum fail to fire nor produce a hangfire.

Not saying it will never happen, but it has not happened to me after 10's of thousands of fired rounds using them.

I utilize Magnum primers whenever the powder is a spherical, or when extrudeds exceed 60 grains in charge weight.
Also, If I anticipate hunting in subzero temps, I often develop a load using Magnum primers.
This has worked for my purposes.

Regards, Dave.

Most I've done is 62gr H4350 in a 6.5RM with 100gr ballistic tips for 3700fps, usual load is 130's with 60 of H4831sc for close to 3200.

That sounds like a lot of powder ya wanna burn! I wouldn't hunt in the cold with it if it were me.

I am gonna load up five of each with the BR and 200 and see what they do at distance, maybe chronograph for ####s and giggles also.

Never had a click , or a click........................bang , in all my reloading.
