What is the process if you buy an import an antique handgun from USA ?

I would like to know what is the process when you order a revolver classified antique (in Canada) from the USA ?

Should I ask for something to the RCMP (like the antique status letter) prior the receiving or any authorization for the Canadian customs ?

YOU DON'T have to get a antique status letter but it makes things easier call the Techs at the CFC request a antique status letter you will need to supply them with all require info then fax the letter to the seller to put with the gun. depends on what you are buying all Webly MKI,MKII ARE CONSIDERED ANTIQUE . its the ones that go to serial # that can be a little more difficult .I have bought a number without getting a letter . But if its a $5000.00 dollar Colt best to be safe.

Apparently, the techs don't like to talk to us anymore, they want letter request to go through email sfss-firearmident@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
