What is the rarest SKS? So I can keep an eye out for it.

That is a good page!

Vienamese, North Korean, East German are pretty rare.

In Canada, Albanian and Romanian are rare, but could be imported from the US if one so chose to spend the money. Egyptian contract rifles are in the same boat as these, as are Russian made but DDR marked versions (East German but from Russian lend/lease).

Bangladesh has Chinese SKS rifles, but may also have made their own with Chinese help. They did this with the Type 81 rifle but may have done it with the SKS first. Not yet confirmed.

Then you get the Yugos, Russians and Chinese. Pre 49 Russians would be a find. I passed a heavy refurb up locally before I understood much about SKS carbines. The recoild spring cover had a hand carved tula star and "CKC-45 1948" hand carved below it. Still kick myself. Should have grabbed it for the cover alone.

Many other countries used them. Any with marking from another country other than the home country of manufacture would be very interesting.

Yugo m59/66 is a great find and not many in Canada. I would love to find an Albanian but never imported to Canada to my knowledge and are rare find in the US.

I still think the SKS-D and M will always hold the most value based on supply and demand and the fact they are the closet to an AK we can own. If anyone has an Albanian SKS I will trade one of my M-models!

yes, you are right . i had a "D" collection (4 of them) and i sold it off two years ago for $425 for non-bayo and $475 for bayo .

i recall many people saying why would someone pay those prices when they can buy a used cz858 ? since the reclass , guess what? they are selling for over $500 now.

what ever happened to the 10,000 sks he was gonna buy from western Africa ?

Johntwo at Marstar just posted that what they have left for SKS is it. The 75 buck sks is coming to an end on April 1.

So much for "unending" supply.

Starting April 1st all deals including our Type 56 Chinese military SKS will be discontinued. Sadly it is the end of the 75$ SKS, this may be your last chance to pick one of these rifles.

We still have some stock left but when they're gone they're gone.
