Winchester Model 1894 in 30-30 NRA Centennial Rifle with 24” Barrel.
Rifle is in good used condition, no cracks in Wood, all seems to be original, not sure about the rear sight.
Bore is in reasonable good condition but not super clean, this Rifle has hunted the northcountry.
Receiver on the Loading Gate side has 2 large Factory Scrolls. This side in the Stock is a 1.5Diameter Medallion inlaid Sais, National Rifle Association of America it also Shows an Eagle over crossed Rifles and underneath Centennial 1871 – 1971.
The other side on the Receiver shows Factory engraving 1871 NRA 1971
Serial number is NRA 559XX
But plate is plastic, says Winchester Repeating Arms on it.
Bluing on the Receiver is almost all gone, but on Rifle and Magazine Tube 90%.
Sling swivel studs on For end and rear Stock.

What would experienced Winchester Collectors say this Rifle is worth, any suggestion appreciated.

Pictures can be sent to your private email address.

Thanks in advance and have a good Day.

Winchester pumped out these collectibles in droves. Within the population of collectibles, yours is at the "shooter" end of the scale. What collectors want is unfired, c/w box and tags. So yours is worth +/- 500$.

I trust this rifle was manufactured in 1971. Another 1894 of mine I bought in 1972. Both of them have the steel cast Cartridge lifter and loading Gates.

At the Gun show this Spring in Chilliwack I know of at least 2 regular 1894s from that area sold for 900 the other for 1200 not new and without Boxes, therefore I trust that a 500 to 550 Price is probably not realistic.

Thanks

We were being honest based on the description given.
Hopefully you find someone that trusts your evaluation.
But here on CGN you will not get $900 to $1200, that is out to lunch around here.

There are a lot of eager (and sadly, uninformed) young buyers who attend that show, often in pairs and there is a kind of "show hysteria" that grips them and they get sucked into paying silly asking prices. At least that's what it looks like from this side of the fence.

Sounds as if that show might be your best bet.

You could list the rifle in the EE for $1000 or $1200, and see what the response is.

Thinking you're going to get $9-1200 for an out of box, used commemorative isn't realistic. That price range would be correct for an original good condition pre-war 1894.

I am not saying that at all, I just bought this Gun to help a Friend out. Once and if I decide to sell I hope to recover my Money until then I am going to have a little fun with it.
