Anyone have one of these? How does it compare to the full size? How would it compare to say an STI Tactical? Anyone in the GTA with one ready to test fire? :)

I have a compact, and a full size tactical to compare it to. Great pistol, no complaints.

how does it compare in terms of recoil and accuracy? it is only 8 rounds, right?

I have had the gamut of USP's...from the Mark23 to the Compact Tactical...
It's a great platform in the larger units..I love and will keep the Mark23.
The Compact, while feeling and looking great, was a real handful in 45 ACP...
I don't think there is any real advantage in the platform (in 45ACP), and the
issues of recoil, and (theoretical...;) ) disadvantage of only 8 rounds 'sealed
it's fate' for me...
I, and everone else who tried it back to back with a full size Tactical, an
Expert and the Mark23, tended to agree with me.
One of my current favourite 'tupperware' units is one of the restricted only
Glock 19's...the compact format was made for 9MM and it holds 10 rounds!

thanks foxbat, that was very helpful! I certainly want to get a Mark 23...I saw the Compact recently and it looked great too.

Considering paper zombies dont care about 8 or 10 rounds I dont put much thought into that.
Although I have some single stack 1911's, so I'm used to having less than 10 rounds.
The compact is a smaller USP, but by no means a small pistol. Accuracy wise, its a great pistol. I would of been more surprised if it was not accurate.
Think of it this way.
First came the Mark 23, it was huge. Then came the smaller version called the Tactical. Now we have the Compact.
Maybe a Sub-compact in the future? (for American's that is)

ottawaguy, ok..glad to hear it is accurate...how does the recoil compare to the full size?

I've been really pleased with mine too. I've owned Mark 23's, all sorts of USPs, and this is by far my favorite. Recoil does not seem bad at all to me, and I think the accuracy is outstanding. I shoot this one more accurately than any other HK that I have owned.

Get one. You won't be sorry.

I dont find it has recoil problems, but I have not shot it back to back with the full size.
If you are seriously considering one, its a great gun.
Someone close to you must have one by now for you to try out.
