We need a new and more interesting thread to beat on, and this is all my limited mind could come up with (I've been at work since 0330hrs).

The worst shooting rifle I ever owned was a Savage model 99E I bought for $250 dollars, in .308 WCF. It was the roughest action I have ever used. It cost me $200 in gunsmithing to have the trigger brought down below 10lbs, and the action slicked a bit. Before this it took considerable effort to chamber shells. The 'smithing didn't do much. The creepy, crappy trigger, and piss-poor action aside, this rifle was the best shooting shotgun I ever owned:rolleyes:. Everything from 130gr Hornady SP to 180 Sierra's grouped from 4 to 10" and we tried every trick from bedding to holy water to change it. I had the best results with AA2700 and 170 Sierra FPs, and it averaged 3.5" for a couple, but the majority were over 4". Some fella at the range decided he liked it, and paid me $300 for the rifle, and I let it go. The 10" groups where interesting, and happened with Speer 150gr BT.
I have had some very nice 99's go through my hands this year, and all shot considerrably well in comparison (not to mention much more refined mechanically). All of these were pre-60's manufature though.

Sorry, I don't have a picture of that rifle, but it haunts my mind........

My worst was a 92 Winchester in 38-40. Didn'timprove when I switched barrels to 44-40, but, with a lot of work on my oart, both with the rifle, and with reloading, it now shoots quite well.
How bad was it? I have witnesses to groups off a rest of more than 12 " at 25 yards.
It now does 3 to 4" at 100 yards.

My experience with a 99 C Savage in 308, was quite a bit better, however I was disappointed in the groups. I never got it better than 3".
That's acceptable for close range hunting, but not what I expected. Did a lot of work on it too, but to no avail.
The rifle itself was a joy to use. Smooth as butter, and well balanced. Just wouldn't come together for me.

A Swedish Mauser with a bad bore. Looked quite gray and rough. First shot it was always right on target, second shot a few inches off, third shot the bullets went through the paper sideways.

my worst was a BSA Monarch in 7mm Rem Mag with the original factory barrel. "Grouped" in the 2-4" range consistently with handloads. A combonation of a Shilen barrel and glass bedding helped turn it into a rifle that would shoot between 3/4" & 1.5" with almost any load. It was a frustrating rifle to shoot before the rebarrel, and at that time it was my only centerfire rifle and I shot it alot

my worst gun I have ever used is Mossberg 935 auto loader shot gun,I bought it new last year and brought for ducks and goose hunted but it always got jammed then I sent it back to manufacture to fixed the problem,it take a month to sent me back but it didn't seen that the problem is fixed ( they said that they had fixed it )it still got jammed about out of 20 shots,it really let me down,I would like to dump it into garbage can,it's not a reliable shot gun,I won't buy Mossberg anymore, that's my worst experience,I missed so many ducks and goose during hunting last year,Mossberg is suck.

Ruger No.1 Light sporter in .243.
Didn't matter what I did, the danged rifle would not shoot better than 2" at 100 yards.
However, the VERY worst was an Enfield No.1 that was originally Royal Newfoundland Regiment
Bullets sideways at 50 yards!

I thought the worst I ever had was a Savage 99c also in .308. It shot groups good enough to hunt with, but put them into a group the size of a softball. But awhile ago that changed. I was shooting an SMLE off a sandbag. I emptied 10 shots into a 100 target, and placed exactly one hole in the paper. Even I'm not that bad of a shot.

M44 Carbine. Thing shot hi without the bayonet turned out. Would get hot & lock bolt up solid. Never stopped leaching grease from stock even after multiple brake cleaner soaks. Shot sub minute of barn on a good day.

Savage III 30.06 I bought new, with scope. 5 shots at 100 yards was 24"-26" all over the freaking place, found out the scope was broken! Replaced scope and i'm down to 3" groupings

My buddy bought one of those Savage hunter packages with the scope. Samething happened at a 100 yds; it was all over the place. Found out it was one of the screws in cheap rings they were using kept backing off.

My Winchester 1892 SRC in 44-40 is currently my worst shooting rifle. I hope to improve it with reloading if at all possible. Its probably done hunting.

Still filled the freezer with it last November......

Remington 742 Woodsmaster in 6mm. If I shot 10 shot from that gun at 50 yards, then shot another target at 50 yards with buckshot, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.:runaway:

An old remington 22 pump action I got from my Grandfather. I think it was made around 1906, and he used it on the farm when he was a kid. The bore is horrible. If you pointed it straight down and pulled the trigger you would be lucky if you could hit dirt. Can't ever get rid of it though, too much sentimental value.

Some sort of straight pull action relic in 30-30. Cant even remember the name. It killed me my first deer many years ago, now it resides in the cabinet where it belongs.

Good solid 8" groups at 50yrds.
