What is this accessory seen on some Tac rifles?

im curious if anyone can give me the details of these little rails that sit at the fore end of the stock.. obviously for a NV or IR nod

heres one seen on an M40

if you wanna mount a telescope to it you need that front and rear rail, that way you can take out things like the moons, hubble space telescope, and spy on the cute girl 15 streets over.

youve eithered answered your own question, or are you looking for details such as technical specs?

obviously i wasnt clear enough.. i know what its for.. i want to know brands, retailers, and its name so that i can look into purchasing one for my bolt gun

going to Wolverine ( as an example ) and saying 'hey buddy, just want one of those little forward rail flidgets.. ya know? ..... oh and i guess i'll take a flux capacitor while im at it...heck, make it two"

Not illegal. Only illegal to hunt with depending on location, which may or may not include pest removal. Check local wildlife laws.

seems like it would be an interesting add on but what types of nv systems will work on a rail mount ive only ever seen hand held or huge bulky unimount systems. never seen a forward mount nv

Just keep in mind this is not the bushnell/walmart NV this is real and will cost in the $3000 to $6000 range. As will any on the real weapon mounted stuff.
