What's this pin for? Reassembled my 858 and had this left over ???

That holds the bolt hold open/bolt release and mag release in place.

Turn it over. You'll see the hole.

Sweet. thanks. Found the hole... does it drop in from inside the receiver or go in from underneath?

By the way, I saw your vz58 in another thread. Looks good!! I have the same wood kit for one of mine. I like it but pistol grip was way too small for my hands so I made another. I see you running a magpul. Is it an ak one?

Makes no difference, I put mine in from the bottom. It just looks a little cleaner with the head of the pin outside the rifle.

I believe the pin's supposed to go in from the inside, but yes, it works either way.
