What is the name of this gun? It looks pretty big and chunky. Can people buy it?

You could at one time own this shotgun it is a USAS 12 ga shotgun it could be purchased as a semi-auto in Canada or a Full Auto in the US

Oh... so it's not available anymore, huh? ####e... Like the look of that gun. I bet you can still buy it in US though, right?

They've also been re-classified as "Destructive Devices" in the US, so they need to be registered with ATFE, and a tax paid on their ownership/transfer. It's a HEAVY mofo, and a full 25-round drum makes it even heavier.

It is the weapon that was used by Steven Segral(spelling) in an anti-oil company movie right?

Gilbert Industries USAS-12.Made in the U.S.A.

Gilbert Equipment Co. is only responsible on the development of USAS-12 as they have no manufacturing capability, and it is indeed made by Daewoo Precision Industries of South Korea. During late 1990s, RAMO Defence Co began to assemble USAS-12 shotguns from Korean and US-made parts.

"Destructive Device?" Doesn't all firearm in essence a destructive device?
How do these politicians decides? Do they consult somekind of magic 8 ball, to come up with these ridiculous names... I know it's just the way of the world... but it's just not right. A gun like that... should be mine. Oh yes. It should be. It's not fair that only some terrible actors like Steven Siegal get to enjoy it.

"Destructive Device" is the US classification for things that explode (Claymores, grenades, etc.) or for things that have been deemed "non-sporting" and have a bore diameter over .50" (modern cannon, artillery, etc.). Clinton had the USAS-12 and the Striker/Streetsweeper series re-classified to DDs at the same time as a sop to the gun control lobby. IIRC, Greentips, the Pancor Jackhammer was supposed to be able to use pre-loaded drums as mines.

I had a chance to fire one at a full-auto shoot in Albany, OR a few years ago.
The owner of it brought along a bunch of weak Chinese ammo, so it didn't eject properly. My friend and I went to Target or Walmart, and bought a shopping cart full of Federal 12 guage and made a deal with the guy to use our ammo in his gun for a fee. Good Fun!!
On one of my turns, the range went cold for a few minutes while targets got re-set, ect. including party ballons on a long string that was strung across the width of the range. As soon as the range went hot, I cleaned out most of them in one burst!

A friend of mine had one. He used it in a SOF 3 gun match in Las Vegas in the early '90's. It did NOT like the sand and choked a couple of times. He sold it shortly thereafter, just before the hammer fell a while later. Lucky him! It was a heavy pig
