What is this gun??

All I know is its 44 cal smooth bore, I'm looking for any info I can get. It says Belgium on the bottom of the barrel. That is it.

I've seen similar folding .410 guns for poaching pheasants I believe. I'm interested in the answer too. That's a neat gun you have there.

Turns out from my research, this is called a Belgian poachers shotgun. Chambered in 410. Doubt it's worth much, so it will be a mantle piece.

I use mine all the time. Mine has a four digit serial number and is chambered for three inch .410. Mine is stamped under the barrel in millimeters and yes it looks all original to me.

Yeah, it is a poachers gun. I used to work with an English guy and he said the old fellow he grew up down the road from was an inveterate poacher. He said he travelled at night ON A BICYCLE with a fold up .410 shotgun. He said he shot roosting pheasants out of the trees in the dark and had white tape wrapped around the muzzle as an aid for shooting in the dark.

Extremely effective and deadly, and trust me, I know! I remember one old boy used to come into the Pub on a Friday night and always had his "four ten" under his coat, not sure he was ever capable of hitting anything on his way home. You have a great find there, we don't see them very often these days.
