I bought this on the EE and the seller thought it was for a 590 because it didn't fit his 870 (he bought it at a gun show)-- it didn't work on my Mossberg so now I need to figure out what it's for so I can get rid of it. The only # I can find on this thing is 50109011 on the rail that the stock slides on, and one of the pics shows the difference with my 590's stock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :D

I'd bet that the seller tried to put it on a Chinese copy. They are hit and miss which is sort of weird, different threading or something. It is likely for an 870 as he was told.

Thanks- from looking on here and Google, I was thinking it was an 870 stock regardless of what the seller thought, but never thought of getting the info right from Blackhawk!

since blackhawk took over knoxx and moved production to china there has been a drop in the QC, mainly fit issues.
bbb

So maybe I have an 870 stock that actually doesn't fit an 870! Good thing I got a partial refund and can sell cheap.

I ended up getting an ATI collapsible stock instead and I'm not exactly happy with that one either...

Ryan, the only stocks knoxx makes thathave a face like that are, remington, mossberg and Fabarm.
The fabarm is completly flat.
mossberg as a ring in it .
and the remingtonhas that D shapped step.
Im 99% sure its a badly fitting rem 870

Aren't the 12-gauge and 20-gauge 870's different sized receivers? I'm thinking that this is for the 20-gauge. I had to find a 20-gauge Knox stock to fit my 7600.

That would make sense.
This was my stock, I bought it from anothe gunnut who got it on trade and thought it was for a 870, but wasnt sure. I tried it on my Grizzley 12ga and my 870 12ga, and it just didnt wanna fit right..I thought the end looked like an 870 end, but if a 20ga is smaller , that would be the one.

The experts at Blackhawk! were able to determine that yes it is in fact an 870 stock- but 12 or 20 gauge they could not say.

They did attach this handy reference guide:

I got my hands on a 12 gauge 870 stock and somebody also PM'd me the dimensions of theirs and I am now positive that this one is a 20 gauge 870 stock. They look the same, but the 20 gauge is slightly smaller.

For future reference the male part of the connection (at the face, it tapers) on the 20 gauge is 1" wide by 1.5" tall, the 12 gauge is 1 1/16" wide by 1 5/8" tall.

Thanks for all the input,
Ryan

yes they are, 7600's, 20 gauge 870's, and 7615's all take the same butt stocks, incidentally, alot of 7615's also came with those knoxx stocks from the factory. ill bet thats probley the source of this one.
