Picked this up at a gun show years ago thinking it was a Luger mag. It will go about halfway in the magwell and then get really stuck.

Made in Japan, guessing its from the 70's or so? It is definitely not a Nambu mag, nor does it appear to be for a Lahti.

Compared to a MecGar mag (dark blued one in the photos), you can see it is dimensionally different. The angle of the follower/bullet is steeper. The width is a bit wider. The mag catch is close to where it should be, as is the base thing with the round bits. It holds 7 9mm Luger rounds.

Any idea what it is? For another pistol, or just a crappy knock off?

It is a magazine for a Replica Luger made by RMA out of Japan. Very realistic in every way but the follower is made of a zinc instead of a machined metal. They made full line of replica guns, lugers, 1911'a sub machine guns ect. I wouldn't use this in a real luger however, feeding problems at the least, if it fits in the gun at all.
