Hi everyone  happy to joined the shooting community

I just purchased this CZ75 brand new and noticed these spots on the gun slide

The surface is not pitted but I am just concerned if its rust  Btw, it's not that dramatic as in the last picture, the colour of the spots are not brown but dull and noticeable.

Does anyone know what are these spots and should I be concerned

Thanks a bunch!

Hi! I forgot the mention I tried cleaning it with CLP and it doesn't come off.

I scrub that thing pretty well with an oiled rag and the spots are still there.

I hope Im just freaking out over some blemish and not something potentially problematic.

Since this was my first firearm purchase and I paid a premium I was expecting some quality control and nice finishes.

Just a thought, if you bought it at a dealer, see if there is something they can do for you. If not, there is a bluing cream you can get, Wholesale sports carries it. It might take it out/cover it, the stuff works pretty good.

Thanks for that information, however my main concern would be rust, if not I would just leave it but I can't figure out what it is.

firstly i havent got any pistols
is the handgun new as from the picture it looks like were a left handed tiggered person would
leave their index finger

just a thought

I got it from a store new...but I think you are right with your inference.

So, can hand sweat cause a pattern like those shown in the picture?

Thanks.

Just cosmetic imho, and it won't affect function. If it was purchased as new, I'd want the dealer to swap me out one with a better finish...I'd have done that in the store though. Now that you have it home, if the dealer isn't normally dealing with you they may be sceptical that you've damaged the finish and it wasn't a factory issue at all.

...sweat can't do that to the finish, strong solvents might.

I used to be like you, looking over the finishes of my new stuff with a magnifying glass (practically) and I never enjoyed using my stuff for fear of "damaging" the finish. Now I am a recovering perfectionist, and while still not free of care, I have learned to not sweat this kind of stuff and am happier for it. And guess what, my stuff isn't any worse off than before...

Thanks for the prompt replies guys, put my mind to ease.

And sorry for being picky, I'm always like this when dealing with something novel that I treasure, you can tell I'm a total gun newb :D

I have a CZ85 combat and it has a few specs on it too and could care less. Its deadly accurate out of the box and functions flawless.CZ handguns are military grade and your model Nato approved, the first for an eastern block firearm. They are known for their quality and performance and just feel good in your hand.Shoot it and enjoy!--Dieseldog!

Have you ever seen what appears to be an orange peel texture on new cars paint job?
It is a blemish in the finish, doesnt look good, but doesnt affect the function of the vehicle just takes from the aesthetics of the finish
of the car and now in your gun.
Then again, I have been known to be wrong once or twice.

My latest Shadow came the same way! Looks like it went through the production line to fast when I pull it apart and look closely. My first Shadow seems better quality but after several years of IPSC it's worn down to bare metal in several spots. I live on the west coast and shoot in the rain often but it shows no sign of rust anywhere. I wouldn't panic, just shoot the thing!

It's nice to hear similar experiences thanks guys :) Time to find out how badass CZ shoots, hopefully the functionality outweighs any cosmetic impurities.
