Anyone have any good info? The stock looks like it has been sanded, as it has lots of scuff marks....especially around any curved areas. Any of the markings I could find are in the pictures I've attached. If there are any other markings, they are hidden or very hard to notice.

Couldn't get a decent pic of the bore, but it looks like the rifling is still decent. A few rust specs noticeable just looking in the muzzle end, and the tube is kind of dull throughout its length. Chamber looks good from as much as I can see of it. Not gouged or scratched like some of the older rifles I've seen.

I seriously know f-all about this. My brother gave it to me, said a coworker of his gave it to him. My brother was going to dispose of it if I didn't want it, so naturally I took it.

Any usefulness out of this thing, or pile of parts?
 
It's a P14 Enfield. US manufactured WW1 vintage. Looks to be in decent shape. Should be easy to restore and quite collectable. The fact it is drilled for a scope mount will significantly reduce collector value.
 
Interesting.....

Luckily whoever put the scope rail on, only drilled the rear. There was literally only 1 screw holding that rail in place. I imagine the rear screw hole could be covered by the correct rear sight? I could be wrong through....

If the stamp on the barrel is from an importer, too bad it couldn't have been somewhere else a little more hidden.
 
Agreed that it is a Pattern '14 British .303BR rifle with a scope rail. Worth returning to original condition, despite the Century import marking. Those stocks are scarcer than you'd think.
 
With the finger grooves, looks to be a M1917 stock. Winchester made nose cap. I suspect that it is a made up bitser.
 
All matching (bolt, receiver, sight) and uncut wood and barrel, prices I've seen are in the $700 region. This one probably $500 mark would be probably right.
 
You'll need to factor in the fact that the rear sight is missing in this appraisal.

With a good bore, these P14 and M1917 can be quite surprizingly accurate.
 
Pattern 14 Enfield unfortunately drilled for a rail. The rifle was imported into the U.S. at some point and ended up here. With the drilling, missing aperture sight and import marks value is around $350 in my opinion.

Saved it from being destroyed at least, told my brother that any time he thinks a gun is worthless and he's just going to have it destroyed, that he has to give it to me instead.
 
I think i've got a rear sight for that in a bits and pieces box at home. Anyone know how to tell the difference between a P14 and P17 sight? Currently holidaying in Edmonton but will be home in MB by the 2nd or 3rd. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks, but the gun is already spoken for. Maybe the buyer will see this and message you.....I can also let him know in case he is interested.

He said he was going to just crush the receiver and throw it in scrap steel. He likely would have done that in my dad's shop, so I would have caught him anyways.

But yes......I know, stupid. He's an engineer though......... cou:

I told him worst case scenario is that someone could strip it for parts (because I didn't know anything about this particular rifle at the time)
