Cleaned my gun tonight and noticed that there still seemed to be some copper left behind, kept cleaning but it wouldn't come off. The barrel is cleaned so that the patches were coming out clean. This copper looking stuff is only on two of the lands, also about 1/4-3/8" down the lands there are little grooves going across the lands, these grooves are on all the lands, I'm thinking this is not a good thing!

Sorry about the fuzzy pic, best I could get with my camera. Thanks for any help, it will be appreciated!

You have jacket fouling... you need to clean it with a copper dissolving cleaner or use JB Bore Cleaning Paste...

The CR 10 is a good copper solvent. It doesn't however work well on powder fouling which often is deposited between the layers of copper.

I will use copper solvent until the patches come out clean and then follow with a powder solvent like Hoppes. (I like the smell! ;) ) Dry the bore with a clean patch and try the copper solvent again. Sometimes it takes a few cycles to get all the crap out.
