What is this ...

yep I have that one, it was two of them posing for a pic and useing a mosin I thought that was pretty cool.

That M38 needs a good bath in evapo-rust, a re bluing, and re oil/greasing. :D

I bought one like the pictured rifle in Dec 2008 for $200 shipped to my door. It was refurbed with the M44 stock and probably not fired since being refurbished. I took mine out for the first time a week ago and was really impressed with it...these carbines are lots of fun!

The supplier I got these from had since run out, and I'm not aware of anyone else bringing them in, or whether there's anymore to be had from overseas. I suggest you tell your friend to clean it up and take good care of it, since it does have the potential of becoming more valuable in the future, if the prices haven't already begun to climb.

Regards,

Frank

Ehh where the fun in that? Sell, sell sell. Right now I figure its worth about $120 with all the rust included.

SIR was selling Mosin carbines for about 75$ inc. taxes and shipped a few years ago. In that condition I'd not ask for more than 50.

I think that would be more than a few years...(damm I was born way to late) I would love to find a Tula M38. Take it out of the stock and see if it is a star or a triangle stamped on the tang.

if that were mine I wouldnt settle for less then 100$....that stocks not a postwar refurb its wartime and to some that appeals more then the refurbs we'r getting today.

Hmmm, maybe you're right, it was just before they ended the CFC $25 transfer fee.
