What is up with this flashhider?

LOL... is he looking away?
Impressive "flash"... more like an explosion.

By the way...
For reloading purposes (handgun), what's the best way to get the most FLASH...

Slow powder + heavy bullet?
Slow powder + light bullet?
Fast powder + heavy bullet?
Fast powder + light bullet?

Seeing all those sparks flying backwards reminds a guy (or gal) how important it is to keep you safety glasses on when at the firing line (even if you're not the one shooting).

Good lord. That's impressive. It's like a flamethrower.

I'm curious...what's so impressive - the photos or the flash? The photos are impressive, the fact that the loads flash like that is completely contrary to what you'd want in the real world. Loads and firearms that flash give away your position, decrease night vision and god help you if you're wearing NVGs. Sure, it looks cool like in the movies, but in the end looking for a load with the most muzzle flash possible is just dumb.

The photographer impresses me though. Great pics!

But, I like fireworks and explosions! Since it's the range... I love seeing big flash and big fire

But yeah, if I was sniping people in a city setting (or forest) at night I'd definitely want no flash and I'd also want whatever I was shooting to be silenced as well.

what kind of video camera do you have that catches that? My HD camera occasionally catches a muzzle flash, but I definitely don't have too many frames to pick from so its rarely at its peak.

Trick is to record VIDEO... then you can pull the frames that caught the best "flash". No way you are going to capture the flash in PICTURE mode ;)

I reread your post... if you are already capturing video - select "SPORT SETTING". It speeds up the frame rate capture to 60fps I believe; almost every camera made in the last 5 years has this.
