If I may reply, IMO, a revolver should look like a Smith and Wesson....J, K, L, or N
frame. Tapered, bull, with or without underlugs, snubs or any length, fixed sight, patridge or ramp...they are all beautifully proportioned.
OTOH, I am not a fan of the 460 or 500 or the Performance Center revos with the bizarre barrel profiles.

A very distinctive look, similar to the visual impact the Python had when it came on the scene. My compliaments

Of the handguns I own, my favourite is my four-screw S&W Model 29 made in 1961:
The came with some well-worn post-1968 target grips rather than the original "Coke bottle" grips. I replaced them with a set of Ahrends Retro Target grips.

I have a S&W 27 that I would not part with that is about as perfect a gun as I would want. The only other thing I would consider that good is the Sig X-5 semis that the guys had geared up at the range that are all stainless, single action, adjsutable sights, and a non adjsutable trigger set to about 3 1/2 lbs; it is the only semi I ahve shot that shoots as well as the 27.

Sweet!! I have the same book with a couple of black powder pistols on the dust jacket.

I agree and as I posted in #16, the N-frame, specifically with the non-tapered barrel, and if I could get a 5" 29, that I would class as perfection and my life would be complete.
I'm not a fan of stainless steel guns but that was beyond my choice when I acquired my 500. I would prefer a high gloss blue if available, but that feature aside, the dam thing sure shoots well.

I have to agree. A guy I used to bullseye shoot with at the Naniamo club had been a tool & die maker in England. When he came to the area after he retired, using his skills and inline with his interests in the shooting sports, he took up gunsmithing as a sideline and ended up a gunsmith of note in this area. He passed away a few years ago and recently I was lucky enough, through a mutual friend, to pick up his 1911 that he had accurised for bullseye shooting. shooting.
It shoots really well but it the 'other' significance that's important to me.

My favorite handguns styles are typified by the Colt SAA, the Colt 1911, and the DA S&Ws. Modern plastic guns designed to have no particular advantage over the older designs other than cheap construction, difficult triggers, and an unpleasing appearance, have no place in my life.
