What is your black bear rifle for this year?

This year will be my .308 WIN 16" barrel Remington 700 zeroed in with Federal Power Shok 180gr soft point.

My 300 WM has a new scope requiring sight-in so unless I go to the range at some time in the next three days, it'll be my 280.

So far have two ready to go.

Rebarreled to 9.3x62mm Marlin XL-7, with a Varget/Privi 285 grain bullet combo.

Handi rifle, 45-70, with a 500 grain gas check bullet poking along at ballpark 1,400 fps

I haven’t killed anything with my .444 Marlin yet so it seems like he natural choice. .444 Marlin with 325gr cast powder coated.

It might end up being just about anything; but currently I'm dragging a 7-300 Win built on a stainless Sako 75 with Hart barrel and McMillan Hunter stock. It has a 3.5-10 Mark 4 on it at the moment. Its also my beaver gun; shooting the bait is more fun than the bears.

My bear trapping dispatch gun might end up being a 22 LR, or maybe a 788 in .222. It doesn't matter much.

Not sure yet if I will be able to get off work to go bear hunt this spring but if I do it will be with an old Remington M760 30-06 with Leupold 4x33 scope loaded with Remington 180 gr Core lokt RN factory loads.

Sako 85, 9.3x62
It's been years since I've put any time in Bear hunting. Hopefully I have more time this year to make it happen.

Spent the winter building a gorgeous stock for my passed grandmothers pre 64 .375, one more finish coat, and it will be time to hit the bear trail.
