Current line up.

Primary: Tikka T3x Battue chambered in 30-06. Topped with a 2.5-8x36 Leupold VX-3i in a MaSi quick detach mount. Bell & Carlson stock. Mountain Tactical bottom metal and trigger spring. This rifle will do 95% or more of whatever I would want to do. It's extremely accurate, carries well and fits me perfectly. A very versatile rifle.

Secondary/Longer Range: Tikka T3 Stainless chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum. Topped with a Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40 in Sako Optilok rings. B&C stock, Mountain Tactical bottom metal and trigger spring. This one's for pushing things out a little further if I know im gonna be hunting wide open cuts where shots can range out to the 400+ yard range. I'm 99% sure this one's a keeper but I need a little more trigger time behind this one to be positive.

Wildcard: Remington Model 7 Stainless in 260 Remington topped with a Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 sitting in Talley lightweight rings. This rifle is also in a B&C stock. What can I say? They're good quality stocks for the money. This one fits me exceptionally well. The trigger needs upgrading but is totally useable as is. But I've been spoiled with Tikka triggers and want to lower the pull by a few pounds. The upgrades are going to cost more than the rifle did but it'll be just the way I like it when I'm done.

So if I had to pick one from the list I guess it would be the 30-06. But it would be to boring to hunt with just one cartridge all the time. I need a little variety in life.

Sorry, can't play, I have no go-to cartridge. Every year I select a different cartridge, or two, for big game........I have no preference.

My current go to is archery gear for everything that I hunt, deer, bear, turkey and moose. When there is a firearms season, I go with one of the following depending upon what and where I am hunting, Tikka T3 243Win, Tikka T3 6.5CM, CVA Apex muzzleloader, and I am having a new rifle built in 280AI, going with a Defiance anTi action, benchmark barrel, and AG composites stock.

.375 H&H has as much in common with .45-70 as a corvette does with a VW hippie van, so I can’t vote in the poll unfortunately. The groups assembled muddle the meaning terribly, a .28 Nosler and a .338 Win in the same group? :)

My usual go to is 7x57 for critters that don’t bite back, and .375 H&H for guiding and those that do. But in recent years have just ATC carried a Glock 10mm for work, as I rarely hunt for myself anymore. When I do the last gun I used on game was my 5.6x50 Mag for black bear.
