What is your favorite 9mm and why?

I've got a few different nines, my favorite being a Novak HP
Very accurate and a Browning HP just feels right ;)

Let me preface this that I currently own many 9 mm's:

CZ75 (pre-B)
Beretta 92F
4 x Glock 17s
Glock 19
S&W 5904
S&W 5906
2 x SiG P220s
SiG P226R ST
S&W M&P

My Favourite?

My STI Eagle 5.0

Accurate, soft shooting, reliable and extremely well made......

The SIG P229 is my favorite: supremely accurate, totally reliable, feels great in the hand, very controllable during fast firing... looks good too. I like it so much I now have two of them :dancingbanana:

I also like the HK P2000, for many of the same reasons as the 229. The P2000 is lighter though, so there is some trade-off in controllability during the most rapid of shooting... but this can be overcome with lots of practice and lots of lead down range. P2000 would be more comfortable to carry.

I also have a P7 PSP which I like a lot, and I have a SIG P239 TAC arriving any day now (hopefully tomorrow!!) and I am also building a mutant SIG 228/Norinco NP-34 which I will be showing you guys a lot more of in the coming weeks. It could turn out to be the best $500 gun around.

Not bagging on anybody's favorite here, but 9mm guns that I used to have and have since sold for whatever reason: GLOCK 17, Steyr M9-A1, Steyr GB, Walther P99 AS, HK USP.

Nines that my girlfriend has or has owned that I have shot alot: Beretta 92G (her old gun), Beretta 90-two (her current gun).

Nines that friends have which I have shot that I can think of off the top of my head: SIG 210, 228, 226, GLOCK 19, HK P7M8, CZ 75, Baby Eagle, S&W M&P, Grand Power, Norinco NP-29, other 9mm 1911's, Browning High Power... I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now. Suffice to say, I have tried a good selection of what is available in nines, and the 229 and P2000 are right up there.

One of the range members brought out his new Sig X5 on Sunday and asked if I wanted to try it.......I would have to vote for it and now have gun envy :). It had plenty of weight up front to bring the sights back down quick, the sight picture was great (and adjustable to boot), the trigger was great (and not even adjustable), and checkering on the crame was very grippy without taking skin. If I had the cash, I would buy one. Sorry, no pics; he is not a fan of having photos taken of his toys.

beretta 92-why, because it feeds everything, all the time till the locking block goes south- i've got the heel mag eversion, wish it was the other style as it would make transition from the 1911 easier- but both my 22s are heel mag, so it;s just a frame of mind( forgive the pun)

Fav 9mm?

Being a 1911 fan you would think it would be the:

Colt Combat Commander:

Or the slightly tricked up Norc NP-29:

Or even the 1911 "clone" my Star Model BM "compact":

But after many years of owning all kinds of different 9mm's I have to say it's really the:

Browning Hi Power MkIII:

Torn between my STI Trojan, Tanfoglio Model L and my new CZ Shadow.

Result - My all time favourite is an old CZ85 Pre B Combat I sold. Dumb!

Take Care

Luger P08---I've never held a pistol that felt as good and pointed as naturally.

Unfortunately I don't own one, so my favorite 9mm (that I own) is the Glock 17 (because it's the only 9mm I have ;) )

Grand Power K100, the sweetest shooting non 1911 I've ever run, too bad it's so damn ugly.

Favorite 9mm for what use?

For simple paper punching... The P210 is hard to beat... heavy steel frame tames up the (little) recoil of the 9mm, boringly accurate, nice trigger (when you get used to it)...

For action shooting... G17. Works all the time.

For nostalgia sake... P38
A pistol that's been there, done that, and came back to talk about it!
