Looking to get some iron sights for a few rifles, and cost is always a factor to some degree.

Are Magpul Mbus just about the best you can get for a decent price point (150 per set) or is there a lower cost fan favorite that is just as good?

Are the diamond sights worth a darn, or just pure hype?

Thanks!

IMI defense.

Not spring loaded, they click in place manually, you decide if you see that as a plus or minus. Good, you won't flip em by mistake, bad not as much cool factor and 1/4 seconds slower deployment.

Quality is great and the HUGE plus, no need for special tool to adjust front sight.

I love the Diamondhead sights. Solid build and very nice sight picture. Not cheap though.

That being said the magpul buis are very nice for the money.

I bought some Magpul copy on aliexpress for 7 US$ . I was curious about the quality... I have put them on my 7.5'' upper that I have not decided which optic I'll buy.

Results:
plastic finish is a bit rough
rear sight working ok
front sight was really hard to get on the rail. the pin on the flip up button was loose (dropped on the ground freely) so I used some glue. I don't mind the sight is now permanently up. The post is locked with a screw and I didn't have the right allen key with me at the range to adjust it.

I would not pay more than 7 US$ for them. In my case it's a temporary solution and it's a for a plinking upper.

i have a set from wish for my 20inch ar15 . they are amazing! 18$, it flip and lock . made from aluminum

Troy Battle Sights are the standard. They aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I’d really like to Ultradyne C4 sights, but they are expensive. Very cool design though.

My favourite folding rear sight is the KAC micro, the quality is nice and it locks up or down with a positive detent. Folded, it's a pretty low profile (MBUS pro is the only adjustable rear folder that I've seen lay flatter.) There's only one aperture rather than a flippable large/small peep, and I find it appropriate for all lighting conditions where you could use an iron sight.

I run magpul buis on 5 of my ar15s they all work good. I bought the magpul pro and was super disappointed they where wobbly and #### to adjust. I also have a set of metal utg 45° buis on my bcl102 that are great.

Knights Armament Micros. 300 or 600 metre rear, have them both, love them both. Have used pretty much all the others listed above, except for the diamond style (which I do still want to try). The KAC sights have made it tough to go back to anything else...nicer sight picture on target with the slimmer front sight post, and easy to use and adjust. No buttons or levers needed to deploy them, and they fold down with a low profile. A bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. If I had to switch from the KACs, I’d go Magpul PRO.

YMMV
