I like the regular sights Remington/Browning/Winchester puts on their slug barrels. I think a rifled foster slug is about a 75 yard performer and the issue sights are adequate. I know they will kill deer at over 100 yards but sure hits can be a real issue at that distance.
I get by with factory rifle sights, but I swap barrels and use the shotgun for other stuff. If it was a dedicated slug gun, I would consider a 1-4 or 2-7 power scope. Optics are nice during low light/ dusk.
I wouldn't invest in optics for a slug gun that didn't have the accuracy to make it worthwhile.
Remington rifle sights with fiber optic inserts, have used bead, vent rings w/bead, ghost ring, red dot. Rifle sights above all and a red dot is a close second.
