What is your favorite stock for a Winchester 70?

I put a wildcat on my sons crf model 70. I inletted the action and bedded it myself. I wasn't happy with my paint job so sent it to Gary Flach and had him remove the schlabel , adjust the comb and paint. Real nice stock

I briefly owned a win lite in 7rm. It had a lot to offer, lightweight with a 26” barrel. It was superbly accurate (half moa) but I found it painful to shoot and moved it along. It seemed to have a lot of drop at the heel but also wore a hard rubber pad that I should have changed out.

I’m just coming back from a moose hunt in NL where I carried my pre-64 model 70 in .300 H&H. It’s a great rifle but heavy to carry so a lighter stock would be nice to shave some weight so long as the stock shape handles recoil well. The Brown and Echols both seem to have good reps for that.

I put a McMillan Hunter on my New Haven Model 70 Classic. No regrets, although I checked the web site and they don't appear to make them for Model 70's anymore.
