Depending where I am would dictate which rifle I would choose.
If I was in a urban environment it would be my RA XCR-L in 223 with as many LAR mags that I could stuff in my pack/pockets.
If I was in a rural environment I'd probably grab my Rem 700 LSS in 300RUM or my Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM may have to stop a dump truck...
I'd go with the xcr in 223 and add the 6.8 conversion kit... Maybe won't stop a dump truck but it'll stop a pickup... or a moose. Wouldn't want to be defending my homestead from the zombie hordes with a 375 RUM unless I could trick them into firing it and letting the recoil demolish them!
marlin 336 in 30-30, because it's what im the most familiar with, and have the most ammo for, it's a fast repeater, peep sight for quick target aquisition, no gas system...etc...etc
but i'd be tempted to take the 444 for the intimidation factor!... nah, 30-30.

My R93 in .308, 2-7 Scope and my .357 Vaquero. I just like a revolver with a harder hitting round when the shiznit goes down. The R93 only weighs in at 7.5 with a scope, and if the world end, I want to be carrying low weight so I can carry food. Also, the scope can be removed and irons used, and then replaced with zero movement. Makes it very light to carry.
