My last is a gun thats been held up a gunsmith waiting to be converted to a restricted (Colt detective special snub), that belonged to my 81 year old mother. Covid shut the smithing (or at least mine) down for awhile trying to get parts/barrels/etc. across the border. Her new Pal/Rpal just arrived last week to replace her prohib license and a few days after that, the new registration for the firearm. Spent a couple hours on the phone at my mothers trying desperately to call Miramachi. Mission accomplished. Sweating bullets there to get this done before stupid arrives. My worst case scenario was that she had it converted, but, the stupid threats go through and she wouldn't be able to transfer it to me and then it would just become a big waste of time/money and the cops get it anyways.. So, now I'm the proud owner of Colt detective special chambered in .38 with a 4 1/4 inch barrel. A nice bonus after transferring most of my handguns to my son.... Learned something. Even though she's only had a prohibited license for decades, they automatically gave her a pal/rpal license when the gun was converted. No safety classes or anything, just changed the designation. Not that she'll be buying anything anymore..
