What is your main use of your M14 (or clone)?

If zombie killing was on the list we would never get a real idea of what people are using their M14s for. Its a given that when the zombies rise up the M14 will make one hell of a cure for the rage virus. I say use an sks though cheaper to stock pile ammo now.

I'd have to say hunting and the occasional range session, since I can't use it for off range plinking thanks to NB's stupid caliber restrictions outside of deer and bear seasons.

Mei-belle has done for me so far is hunt deer, compete in IPSC, Service Condition, Precision Rifle, and hammer tent stakes. It was my only centerfire rifle until I got a bolt remy. It's still my GOTO gun.

Yeah, it really sucks that these laws are in place. According to NB's game laws, outside of our "big" game seasons, we're not allowed to use any rifle of larger than .23 caliber, or shot larger than BB in our shotguns for hunting. Since the province also has a law stating to the effect that there is no other legal reason to have a firearm in the woods other than hunting, my larger caliber rifles are relegated to range use only for most of the year.

@Hungry: Thomas said the roller is normally held in place by a spring clip and they break off after a few thousand rounds. Since my spring clip broke off somewhere between my 100th and 120th shot, from my understanding it would mean a bigger problem might be underlaying.

Mine will be a casual plinker. Just pre-ordered. Can't wait - hoping to get a good shooter and give it a "snow camo" finish on the stock and go show some clays and milk jugs just who runs the f#$king show around here.
