What is your most recent rifle purchase?

Well, since you got a lemon, time to make lemonade :) Time to source a Howa take-off barrel.

Scrubbed the crap out of it yesterday and hit the range, managed around 3 MOA with 3rnds of old corrosive ammo and 5rnds put it at 4MOA... Not giving up on it yet... But I'm also trying to source a .375 raptor reamer as a backup plan ;)

You'll be pleased with it. I owned a beauty Sako Bavarian Carbine in 30-06... a very well built rifle indeed.

It struck me that a .270 was a bit of a strange choice for a short barrel rig, but yes, I concur that its a very well made rifle. During my one outing with it thus far, I sighted it in, then reached out to 200 yards and was rewarded with a 3 shot 1.75" group (130 gr Power Points over 3031) so I'm intrigued with the possibilities with a more appropriate load. I had intended to shoot at 300, but by then I had lost the light, so it will have to wait for another day, by then I'll have some other loads to test.

Burns K-31, here ya go . . .

Vangaurd stainless in 338 WM. I've never owned a Weatherby, but so far have no complaints.
I was surprised when I put in on the scale after all I heard about them being heavy. It's no lightweight but 8.5 pounds scoped with a 3-10 weaver, I can live with.

M77 ultralight 30-06 shot it yesterday for the first time 220 rn's group under 1" the LC6 trigger is awesome 3.5 lbs very crisp.

Most recent is a Defiance Rebel actioned build, 30 inch frozen fiber carbon barrel chambered to 28 Nosler, McMillan
Carbon A3 Sporter stock , trigger tech trigger, HS bottom end for detachable
Mags. With a 8.5-25 Mark 4 it comes in at 10.4 pounds, or about 3 pounds less than it would be without the weight saving measures. Seems to like 175 gr LR Accubonds and a bunch of H1000.

I recently purchased a Remington 783 in .270..I'm happy with the rifle, but not yet convinced of the .270. I'm more a .308 guy so I may sell/trade up for a .308 or 7mm-08

I was so happy with the Schultz & Larsen M70 .22lr target rifle I bought from Tradex in January that I bought a CG63 6.5x55mm target rifle from them last month too. The M70 is back together and has been shot at the range once. Very nice!! The CG63 is being cleaned and the stock refinished the old fashioned way. Looking forward to getting that out to the range too when it's all done.

Well no pics but I just received my Howa 1500 mini action in the 222 Rem with mag and now looking forward to receiving my Tikka T3X battue in the 30-06.

Nice!! I'm waffling between getting one in 222 Rem or 223 Rem....one has factory ammo that is a lot cheaper and easier to find...the other is way cooler!

Both the 308 and 7-08 are fine cartridges, but you will see no improvement whatsoever over the 270 with either. None!

i just picked up a weatherby true north in 30.06, loved the look online and went and held one , felt like it was a custom made rifle for me, , slapped a zeiss conquest on it, and cant wait to be able to get out and break it in

I like the wider spectrum of bullet weights available for the 308

Why didn't you just buy a 308 in the 1st place?

The old bullet selection is always used as an argument but the fact is that not many people shoot the wide spectrum available.

I shoot a 270, 308 and two 7MMs. I only use one bullet or two weights in each.

Most recent would be a Winchester M70 Classic Stainless in 338 Win Mag and a Ruger M77 Hawkeye stainless laminate in 25-06. Its my third 25-06... I don't think I have a problem....

So that's why I never see any 25-06s.. You have more than your share!
