I just purchased a CZ 527 Varmint in 17 Hornet. I will keep either the CZ or my Ruger in 17 Hornet, whichever one shoots better, and sell the other one. The Ruger shots moa, but I am hoping for even better for long distance ground squirrels.
My .17H in 527 Varmint flavour is about 0.5 MOA with good handloads and on average maybe just above 0.75MOA with Hornady factory 20gr ammo. I think you'll be impressed!
I just mounted a Nikon Nonarch 4-16x42 in Warne rings, and I will do some load development tomorrow. The bolt handle clears the scope, and the trigger came adjusted at 44oz, compared to my previous CZ527 that required a bolt mod, and a trigger adjustment. The barrel wasn't full of gunk like the last CZ either.
That does sound better than saying 2.75 lbs.![]()
Man, that is one mighty fine looking rifle. I'm happy for you and very envious at the same time.
