Later model 70 in 270 WSM. Put on a Monarch 3 3-12x42 and trotted it out to the range. I had picked up the cheapest ammo I could find (which was still kind of pricey) and sighted in:

Ordering a Remington model 700 Sender sf ii in .300 win mag topped off with a vortex viper HST 4-16x44 plus a few other little odds and ends replacing trigger for timney Calvin elite, getting muzzle break made, vortex precision match rings for the viper, extra hs precision stock, fluted bolt with tactical bolt knob.

I thought it had very nice wood for a recent production... but when I ran the serial number it turns out to be a 2006 NIB rifle... so the better wood makes sense... 2005-2007 was a better than average period for wood.
