What is your most recent rifle purchase?

I think it was about 10 or 12 years ago a buddy gave me a 300 Win. Mag. I thought he was daft so the next time we went to a gun show I gave him $300.

Finally scored a Remington 7600 in 35 whelen from a great member here on the EE. Can't wait to plow a moose with it.

My buddy has one & he likes it! Nice rifles.

For me, my latest was the Ruger RSM in 375 H&H off the EE. It is the rifle I will take Africa when I retire.

Cheers
Jay

my uncle passed away ten years ago, he had a sako deluxe av in 338 win mag that i adored. his daughter called me a while back and said she was selling his guns and she knew i was close to him , and if i would be interested in any of his guns, needless to say that 338 sako deluxe is in my gun cabinet now! she also got there a sako deluxe in 243 win, not a caliber for here in newfoundland, was wondering if it has a good resale value as well? its in mint shape and an av model the same age. i might get it and if i dont use it can resell down the road. sorry i dont seem to be able to down load pics on this site.

For something a little 'different', my latest two acquisitions, a pair of 'Flame Throwers'. Wby Vanguard, S2's, one in 270 Win and the other in 300 WM, both with matching Leupold M8 6X scopes.

I could be bumping this thread pretty much every week with a new acquisition... but I am disinclned to spell it out that clearly.

I do have an interesting three rifle M77 MKII set on the way... rare in that they are New/Unfired 2000 production year, sequential serial numbers in three chamberings (.257R, 7X57, .350 Rem Mag. Unusual to find three different consecutive chamberings.

Was 7x57 available for a period of time or is it a special run proposition?

In the M77???

7X57 was a standard chambering for more than 30 years... it is common in the R version, less common in the RS and RSI versions... and increasingly less common as the MKII years progress... but if not fussy on which version of M77 your 7X57 comes in, they are not difficult to source... likely a Tang R version. I have two MKII 7X57's, a 2000 RS and a 2003 R.
