I am getting a new scope for my Rem 7600, here are my options.

-Bushnell 3200
-Leupold VX I
-Burris Fullfield II

What would you recomend, and why

Thanx
Marc

Burris, Bushnell is hit and miss and Leupold is over rated. The calibre would help. Something with significant recoil, I would eliminate Bushnell from your list entirely.

I am no expert about optics, but when I was making this decision about a year ago I can tell you how I did it. I found this forum:

http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=7452&PN=1

They have a ranking of common scopes with input from what I assume are knowledgeable people. If you go through the thread there are also lots of opinions on the rankings. I assume you're looking for the best scope for around $300? So was I, but I waited a bit and found a good price on a basic Bushnell 4200. It was only about $100 more than a Bushnell 3200, but it is apparently a much better scope, and more than sufficient for my humble purposes. From my research it seemed like the best value for my money, and being a poor student that's what I based my decision on.

I like the Burris out of those three. They have slightly heavier internals and lenses and I think that makes them a hair more durable, though I have no way of proving or quantifying that. I also find that the Burris scopes have a better "feel" to the eyebox when you look through them. The black ring that you see a little of, even when the eye-relief is properly set, seems smaller with the Burris than with other scopes. Maybe that's just the way I see it. I have a Signature 3-9x on my 30-06 Stevens and a Fullfield II 3-9x on my 25-06 custom A-Bolt. Both are great scopes and I'd buy either one again. I am a fan of the 2.5-8x VX3, but that's a big step up in price from what you're looking at.

Accuracy Plus in Peterbourgh has the Burris FF 2, 3-9x40, matte on sale for $199 right not.

I'm putting one on my Stevens 200, 223.

I bought a Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 for my 7600 a few years ago. Nice clear scope, but if I was doing it again I'd save myself about 300$ and get a Leapers from Marstar.:)
Didn't know about them when I bought.

Burris

Quality is better than the other two. Would take the VX II or the 4200 Bushnell to equal or exceed.

Good advice on used if you want the bushnell. Hard to beat the Burris in quality comparisons. Thats a screaming price (know at least one other @200 plus tax)

My thoughts, worth what you paid for them....
