What is..........

Do you mean one that is sought after by the most people or one that is really, really sought after by relatively fewer people?

I dunno, I mean one that someone would pull out at the range and everyone would be like "oooooooooh"

in my opinion for me right now it would be the FS2000

Got it. I'm admittedly biased (I'm expecting my NIB OD FS2000 in the mail this week) but I'm inclined to agree with you :). I think the Tavor is still rare enough to also attract attention...maybe a Robinson M96, too. Even a Vector, especiallially in restricted length, would be an attention-getter.

But if you wanted to turn heads on even the most savvy shooter you need something really rare, like the MP7 as GT mentioned, or maybe one of those NR MG42 copies that were in the EE a couple of weeks ago, or the most expensive item I've ever seen on the EE, a Walther WA2000 ($30k), although that might not be quite black enough.

Most of you have figured out what I'm basically asking. Nonrestricted or restricted is what I'm looking for. Not a wish list of firearms we can't get.

On top of the FS2k, Vector and Tavor that I've already mentioned, others I can think of would be the FAMAE family: the SG540, SG542 or the Mini, one of the Swiss Arms rifles or carbines, maybe a SIG MPX.

A Dragunov is probably my ultimate rifle and I have the 12.5 class, but what's the point when you can't shoot it? I already have an FN FAL that I must keep locked away, never to be brought to a range again for fear it wreak havoc on the populace. That's the story here in the people's republic of Canada. And it will probably get worse as the excuse for a government we have now attempts to make law abiding gun owners pay for all the sins committed by criminals with guns. Funny though, an M305 can be used for hunting and brought to a range anytime you want. Go figure.
