What kind of accuraccy can i get out of a 24" AR15?

I actually prefer the clamped front sight/gas block over the pinned and so does Krieger barrels. Take a look at their web site for an explanation.

I've competed with mine for two years, and in that time I've re-aligned the gas ports twice. Both times using red locktite on barrel/block and the bolts....I'm going back to my Colt HB

The performance of the rifle depends on the shooter, the ammo, the glass, an d the weather. Will you out shoot the inherent accuracy of the rifle? I doubt it. Most shooters will never out shoot their rifles.

Unless you pratice (a lot) or only shoot off sand bags (should stick to bench rest rifle for that) you'll have a hard time out-shooting a quality rifle using quality ammunition...

All too often I see spiffy looking guys with spiffy looking rifles shooting nic little group from a benchrest @ 100y... but all to often, they can't get on target should you ask them to shoot prone, kneeling or standing... unless the target is at the 10M line

To answer the original question. If you are getting 1/2 MOA you are doing ok. If you are doing 1/4 MOA that's about as good as it's going to get.

Yeah, this was (obviously) strictly a range gun, going from vault to case to firing point and back again. Quite frustrating actually.
