Obviously we are not talking about match grade ammo here but I was wondering what kind of groups guys are getting with this ammo. Thanks

Depends on the rifle. It'll likely shoot well from some and crap in others. You could prob pull two rifles of the same make with consecutive numbers off the shelf and they wouldn't shoot it the same.

So to the point, it depends on your rifle. Try some and see.

I would be using a 700 SPS Tac 20" with a bedded HS stock, and a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50.

That doesn't really change anything. Your rifle will like it or it won't. I know that may not seem like an answer, but it's the best anyone can give you. The best I can say is try a few boxes before you order 500.

You really gonna put factory Mil surplus from China through your Precision rifle?
The DCRA did it for decades with DA/IVI ammo until it dried up and forced everyone to go to handloads.
The only difference may be if it's corrosive and if it's steel jacketed. In his 700 SPS it will probably group 1.5 MOA maybe better or worse on any given day.
Once he wears out his barrel out then get a good match barrel installed. :)

If you got it, shoot it! Practice is better than not shooting at all I say. I've put crates of 7.62x39 Surplus ammo through my converted Rem 700 and that barrel still shoots great.

This ammo is in the lower food chain, a bit like putting Walmart tires on a brand new Corvette, you dont get your rifle full potential... JP.

Agreed to not wasting it on match barrels, but SPS barrels are meant to be worn out and toss in the scrap heap :)
I use them for off season practice screwing on the match barrels when needed for comps.

im temped to get some for the norinco m14 but I cant validate it when that money could go towards brass + bullets. Though Im not saving money reloading for that price(it comes in about even) Im defs getting way better ammo. I plink with cheap 22lr not with 7.62 but if I didnt reload Id pick it up in a second.
