What kind of barre life on a bull barrel Ruger 22LR?

How long would you guys say a barrel would last on a bull barrel Ruger Mark II/III in .22LR? Would it be more or less than a rifle chambered in .22LR?

Really starting to see the reasoning behind having a 22 handgun to sharpen your skills without emptying your wallet, so I'm looking to pick one up for some high volume shooting.

Any other handguns in the SAME price range you guys would recommend?

used high standard, browning buckmark spring to mind.

As to barrel life, your grandkids will still be shooting it, you'll never wear it out. (I have my grandfathers high standard, still a accurate pistol)

They rent some at my gun range . Has more then a million rnds that s what i ve been told . But for 300$ who cares .... you ll get tired of it b4 u need to change it .

It depends wich one u want . I have a Ruger mark III 22/45 and paid 310 plus tax and shipping at Wolverinesupplies . I d say they re about the same price every where . Only thing is u ll need someone to show u how to reassemble ur pistol the 1st time , then it s piece of cake . It s ugly but it s cheap , accurate and reliable !!

Other parts will get loose before you wear out the barrel.

A million rounds of 22LR will cost you $34,000 @ $17 a brick. So the $300 cost of the gun really is irrelevant.

(The same million rounds of factory 9mm would cost at least $200,000 at $200/thousand)

You're more likely to wear it out cleaning it than shooting it. I've never heard of anyone who has seen a rimfire with a shot out barrel. Rusty, bulged, bent, crushed yes- shot out, no.

I would think somewhere around a billion or two rounds. No, never mind. That probably wouldn't do it either.

Can't go wrong with the Ruger.
Shoots straight, reliable.
Practice disassembly/assembly, it's quick & easy.

Have shot the Buckmark, very nice also.
