In Newfoundland & Labrador, you need a trappers' license, and you can either trap or shoot.

Good to know! However, I do not see any mention of shooting regulations for Labrador, it just says Newfoundland.

Yeah, the Guide isn't very helpful in that regard. Generally speaking, the regulations are much looser in Labrador, and this is no different when it comes to lynx. Section 14(4)(a) of the Wild Life Act (which overrules the Guide in any case) states:
Re lynx, you have to watch the zones and open seasons too, especially on the island. We had no open season here last year.
