i dont want to blue it , i like the flat black look , what kind of paint would i want to use?

Look into having it blued and bead blasted. It will give you a nice matte finish as well as being far more durable and corrosion resistant

I would parkerize it. Very easy to do at home. Or paint it using Armacoat.

Cambodian Tire....get some of that flat black spray paint they use on barbecues.

If you like the flat black look give Armacoat a try. We have painted a few rifles with it with good results.

"...use on barbecues..." That is for Al. Autobody paint will do nicely. Just remember you have to prepare the steel properly just like you do when painting any other steel. Completely de-greased as a minimum. It may need a primer coat too.
