I use the NP-1RR from Nightforce. Was a pain in the ass to learn but now that I'm use to it I don't know that I could shy away. It's definitely not the best reticle choice for target shooting..
Nightforce R2
The R1 makes more sense but I find it too busy for my eyes.
Reticle choice is personal, but to have your turrets in the same unit of measure is helpful. Many Mildot equipped scopes do not offer mil turrets, to me constantly converting is a pita that I don't need.
MOA reticles are a smaller unit of measure if being used for ranging or calling shots.
Nightforce R1, IMHO for rangeing and calling shots for friends it makes sense. Other one I have is fine crosshair, great for small targets at long distance but a pain to use for much else.
For target shooting, I like fine cross hairs, fine cross hairs with a little dot, duplex with rather fine center section. I have no use for mildots, or reticles with multiple aiming points.
For hunting, a medium duplex or dot.
