What knife do you use?

Another vote for the Canadian Belt Knife from Grohmann.

Another Grohmann fan here, and if forced to choose only one knife I could do it all with the Grohmann large pelter. But I use a bunch of different knives, just like I use a lot of different hunting firearms. Recently picked up an old Puma Jagdnicker that I like a lot.

I love my cold steel roach belly. I just like the blade shape and it's super easy to sharpen. Otherwise, it's usually what's in my pocket, most likely a spyderco of some type.

I'm using a ka-bar hunter right now, sometimes my buck folder(no clue what the model is!) if it's in my pocket......but I've always wanted one of the grohmann's, they just feel so....comfortable.

I usually use a boker ceramic folder. A bit of a pain to resharpen but the edge lasts forever. Or I have my russel #4 survival.

i use the Buck Special 119 as well, great for anything i've had to use it on. Thinking about getting the new Swingblade from Outdoor Edge though. Has anyone tried it out? Good or leave it in the store?

I've used everything from a box cutter to my hatchet to 110's and 119's to Bark rivers to a byrd cara cara and just about everything in between :) I just like seeing how different blades, steels and designs stand up and perform.

One of the bigger surprises was the alaskan blade trader from kershaw, which i was given as a gift. Didn't expect much from it, and it's useless for anything but skinning and gutting but damn if it didn't perform very well for that. Carried that for several seasons as my 'go to' skinner and still tend to use that as a baseline to measure other knives by.

Worst ever - my cold steel large voyager with tanto blade. That was just horrible. Plus my hand slipped on the handle and gave me a nice cut while gutting a deer. Really was disappointed in how that did.

Opinel #7 carbon-steel. Can get it skin-poppingly sharp and it's nice to hold. It makes a fabulous box cutter.

out of the bunch of knives i own...i always use this one to gut deer or moose...

I bought one of these last fall haven't had a chance to try it out yet but it goes on every trip...

My everything knife is now a Cold Steel Trail Master but I always have 7 - 10 more knives in the truck...

I have been using a Gerber Gator and a small cheap folding pocket knife for cutting away the glands, etc. But this year I might be replacing the Gator with this one that I recently won:

SOG Revolver H... Amazing knife... you have all in one blade, saw and gut hook. gutted and skinned 8 deer and 2 cows without sharpening it.

For some reason they discontinued it...

Great Knife....

The last deer I got I used a Ruko 4" bowie style blade but I prefer a small blade in my hand for most field dressing tasks. This season I'll have a few new ones to try. I picked up a Grohmann mini skinner and an ESEE izula, if I need something bigger I'll try my new ESEE 4.
