What lever action is this? Looks like a win 94 but it isn't (I think)

Anyone know what action this? Bought it cheap off the EE with the poorly welded tang, was hoping to swap out the action for another one but now I realize it's different, see the steel is thicker at the base, and not rounded off like on the other 1894's.



See the screw holes are a bit different, one is larger on this side.



There is a pin on the other 1894 actions that is replaced by a screw on this one.



Any ideas, is this a big bore or a marlin or what? No manufacturer stamp on the top tang like on the 94's

If the lever pivots on a screw/bolt, it is a post 64. Pre 64 used a pin with a locking screw in the bottom to hold the pin in place. Not all parts are interchangeable.

LOL! I actually bought a bunch of actions and parts a couple years ago, was hoping to swap the parts over to one of the other older actions.

Thanks, I guess I can disassemble compare to the other pre 64 I have disassembled to see what matches. I have some other action parts around somewhere, not all of the action parts, but they might be post 64, maybe I can cobble something together.
 
I have a bin of parts. About the same condition as yours. Once you have the action sorted out, let me know what you are missing.

Ok, I'm gonn try and find time tomorrow to look over the parts, as for the saddle ring carbine I believe your right, I have 3 or 4 bare 1894 actions, purchased with a bunch of other spare parts, all pre 64, and I think the earliest was around 1907, don't have any use for them other then to sell or be used if I can find a complete 94 with broken action.

I've also got an early marlin 336 bare action and .357 barrel, and a near new Winchester 45-70 barrel that id like to mount on a different action one day, something like a Winchester 1910 or enfield action maybe or a savage 1899 .303 with shot out barrel

Where you say "There is a pin on the other 1894 actions that is replaced by a screw on this one" (just above the loading gate) that's just the carrier guide screw. Though it looks like a pin, it's actually the end of the screw, as the earlier ones screwed in from the inside if the receiver. The later ones (post' 64s) screw in from the outside, MUCH easier to get at!
 
Some later post '64s, including the the Big Bores have a coil mainspring,the "rebounding hammer" version with no half-####. They are of the angle eject variety, even if the bbl is not marked AE. You can tell they're AE variety by looking at the position of the ejector on the boltface, it's offset to the left from 6:00 to pitch the casings to the right (top ejects are at 6:00)
