What magazines have you used in your single-stack .40 S&W?

I'd like to hear your first-hand experiences with feeding of your single-stack 1911A1 in .40 S&W.

Brian Enos says the (.45ACP) Wilson 47D works just fine in .40 S&W also.

Wilson has redesigned the feed lips on the 8 rd 47D (standard basepad, left) and 47DE (extended basepad, center) mags. The good news is they now work perfectly for .40 S&W and 357 Sig, and hold 9 rds of .40 compared to 8 rds for .45.

The 10 round 47T (right), however, retains the older style feed lips, which are a tad too wide to handle .40 S&W ammo consistently. I spoke with Wilson about updating the feed lips on the 47T. Until they do, they would require a little "feed lip blacksmithing" to get them to work for the .40 S&W, which of course would void Wilson's warranty. (The lips need to be narrowed from approximately .415" to between .390" and .400" to work with .40 S&W.)

What do you use? How is the feeding reliability?

I have an STI Trojen. It didint mater what i tryed the first round would nose dive and jam. I changed the angle of the barell ramp 5 degrees. That helped a lot. I got 6 Cobra mags from Virgal tripp and now it feed anything .The mags are.40 S@W nine shots.

I use Metalform 8 and 10 round mags in my .40 Trojan. The 8 rounders worked great right out of the box. The 10 rounders needed to be broken in before running reliably. I have heard great things about Virgil Tripps Cobra mags.

Single Stack 1911's in .40 S&W

I have a blued Colt Delta Elite that I had Gunnar @ Armco fit a Para .40 S&W barrel to as a "drop-in" style with the same link & pin set-up as the original Colt factory 10mm barrel. Feeds flawlessly with the factory Colt 10mm mags. Also, work well with some stainless Wilson-Rogers .45ACP mags I had on hand, too.

I have a Trojan in .40.
It worked fine with the original Metalform mag,
but when i bought new mags,I went with the Wilson 47D's.
I load my own and the Wilsons perform flawlessly.
I can load anywhere from 1.135 out to 1.190 and the Wilsons
are great.
The Wilsons might even work well with a shorter factory OAL,
but I haven,t shot factory through them.
