What magnification level should I be looking at for a 22lr target/varmint rig? Range will be 100m and greater, occasionally ducking down to shorter ranges (25-50m). Adjustable objective is a must. I want to keep the cost under $200. Also, on the 6-24x Banner, does it get fuzzy when you get into the higher magnifications?

- 6-18x w/ 50mm objective
- 6-24x w/ 40mm objective
- less?

Any specific recommendations?

Thanks.

i've got the 6x24 banner with the adjustable objectives and no, it doesn't get fuzzy on the upper powers unless you're too close- however , holding it steady enough to get a decent shot IS a problem- i find with anything above 18x BREATH CONTROL becomes a real issue as well as anything else- as fas as a hundred meters goes , you're asking a lot out of a 22 rf cartridge- better range for them is 50 -75

I like the 6-18x50 on my Hornet. NEvertheless, with the Banner, the optics aren;t so good, and they do not work so well at full magnification. They're downright dim which is a problem in the gopher patch; not so much at the range

i've got a 6-24x40 banner.
I would highly recommend it.
I do not notice blur at High magnifications.
I had a 4-12 but It just wasn't enough for me.
Now in a box.
