I think just about the truest statement here is that a rifle becomes collectible when you want to collect it. I think a rifle is a collectible if you don't care if it earns it's keep in hunting or competition or plinking, you just keep it because you like it. I personally don't care a whit if a gun I own is accurate or if ammo is available for it, I just keep it because I like the sense of history I get from it.
