Anybody know what model of peep is on my 95? Im 99 percent sure its a lyman, gun looks like it originally had a lyman 21 based on some wear marks, but i cant seem to find anything on this one.

From the small photo on my phone here, it sure looks like that is - or should I say was - a Lyman 21. That is the rear portion of the sight, the front must have been cut off. Must say I have never seen that before. That is a shame, they are a really nice sight. You could always put another on it. Not cheap, but they are out there.

The sight on it is not a 21, i have compared them and this one is a fair bit different, it works fine though. It has a little goat/deer logo which i think is lyman, other than that nothing, not even a patent date.

Yup, not a 21 from the looks of it. Got home to my computer with a large screen to take another look. From my sight book, it looks like it might be a Lyman 34. They were made for the Springfield 1903, 1906; Krag 1896, 1898; Lee Enfield Mil and Sporter; and the Remington Lee. Should be an application code underneath the sight, a one or two letter code. Have you had it off to look underneath?

Winchester did not make receiver sights. The receiver sights furnished by Winchester specifically for the Model 1895s were either Lyman 21 or Lyman 38 (Wind adjustment). As for the Model 71, they were furnished with Lyman 56A (Later the 66A) if so desired. Lyman also coded one the W71 for the Model 71 and Redfield had a nice one as well, the 70F. This is most certainly a Lyman sight, like you said, it has their running deer logo on it. If you carefully remove it, you may find the information you are looking for.
