What model of shotgun was RCMP issue in the 60's and 70's?

In my time (mid-late 1970's), Remington 870. I believe they were 2.75" chambers at the time.

I had the fun task of collecting all the shotguns in our subdivision and taking them to D Division HQ for conversion to the Remington folding stock. This was due to the fact the existing wood butt stocks would no longer fit in the smaller cars using the new shotgun mounts.

Yep, Remmy 870 wingmasters and they have always been in 2.75" chambered. Those folding stocks were cheek busters if you were a stock crawler.
