What Mods are allowed on a Shadow for IPSC Production div?

The the OP. I recall a great pinned thread on Global Village if your a member there. Posted in cz section, that would be the best place to check if a mod is legal

Well, that's stretching it. How about we let the readers know about how much you do...

You currently require re-certification & have not been a member since Dec. 31 2014.
Your last match was 2014-09-20 where you were 1 of 2 people in revolver.

Since your Black Badge in 2008 - 8 years ago - you shot all of 10 qualifiers and then - only 2 matches since 2008.

This "participation" hardly qualifies you to constantly come on CGN and pose as an expert in the IPSC rules and then criticize them.
Your motives are quite transparent.

How about you stick to IDPA and that other shooting sport you made up and we'll stick to IPSC?

I'd expect a little more maturity from someone 71 years old.

At least we agree on this.

Well Sean after three back surgeries, and now on the list for a right shoulder replacement I just felt that competing in IPSC on a regular basis was not now feasible, although I did give it a try as late as the fall of 2014. In my last match which you don't reference the damn striker broke on my M&P on the first stage and I had to withdraw which is why you see no results for that shoot. Note that was in Production Division.

I do shoot IPSC club matches locally. when the back allows. I remain able to shot IDPA because that sport has some stage design rules that allow folks with health issues to remain in the sport. IPSC clearly doesn't which is ok with me, different sport different rules.

Locally IPSC only had two club matches and two Qualifiers this year and I believe next year plans are to have one Qualifier to allow the few local IPSC shooters to remain current and will continue to shoot non-qualifier matches at the local level. Internal IPSC politics apparently are involved with the absence of enthusiasm to host more than the minimum required.

As to how many matches I have shot you might consider that most of the local IPSC shooters get to two matches in Kitimat when they host them and that club may or may not host Qualifiers next year because of declining membership and with only one likely here that will be the extent of IPSC Qualifiers for the locals unless of course they want to take time off from work to travel to Pr, George, 600KM away, or Quesnell 700KM or down to the lower Mainland. I may have missed a club or two on the way South.

I have no motives in commenting on IPSC rules. They speak for themselves. BTW when was the last time you brought up the issue of re-finishing firearms to IPSC or the fact replacement of non CZ packaged springs, which is as common as air in IPSC makes cheaters our of most of the Production membership? Oh I know as long as you don't say anything or admit to doing it is ok, Seems like European Olympic morals have wandered afield.

One thing I will say is it would appear personal information held by IPSC is not private. I would hope our contact information held by IPSC is.

Lastly, if sometime next year I do have my shoulder joint replaced that will most certainly end my competitive involvement in handgun shooting and any ongoing shooting with local IPSC matches if indeed they are still being held. My loss not yours.

One advantage of being 71 Sean is you really don't have to be politically correct anymore and frankly you really don't give a damn about others might expect of you. If I hurt your feelings by pointing out the obvious then to bad. Do something to change the rule, why have it if nobody adheres to it.

When someone asks if breaking a rule is cheating and the reply is well no, everyone does it, perhaps it is time to just call a spade a spade a f%$#$ing shovel. It is cheating . The fact the rule is not adhered to by virtually by those who shoot Production and only enforced if the shooter admits is quite the statement about those in charge. It is ok to cheat if a) You don't get caught and b) if you don't admit to it.

All the Best

I'm only a B grade hack, but I will never knowingly cheat. It's not about getting caught, it's about my personal integrity, something a guy your age should teach, not the opposite. If other people are cheating, it still don't make it right for me.

I'd rather lose with a legal gun than win with an illegal one.

Thank-you for that post. You are right it is your personal integrity and nobody can take that from you. Have fun with the sport I know I do and did.

Take Care
